New Booze: Azul from Grand Centennario

I'm happy to see a new under-forty-dollar 100% agave tequila hit the market.

Azul, from Grand Centennario, launched first with a reposado and then a blanco that should be hitting shelves any time now. The reposado is aged just for just 8-12 weeks. The product is a blend of column-distilled and pot-distilled tequila. I hadn't heard of other brands doing this but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that many do. This is how some rums and all blended scotch whiskies are made, after all.

I tried the reposado and it's a-okay with me. And for its retail price of $19.99, it will be a new go-to mixing tequila.
