New Booze: Azul from Grand Centennario

I'm happy to see a new under-forty-dollar 100% agave tequila hit the market. Azul, from Grand Centennario, launched first with a reposado and then a blanco that should be hitting shelves any time now. The reposado is aged just for just 8-12 weeks. The product is a blend of column-distilled and pot-distilled tequila. I hadn't heard of other brands doing this but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that many do. Glossy Booze is a round-up of cocktails and spirits stories in magazines. GQ (June) has a story on how to brew your own iced coffee, plus a recommendation for the Sodastream home carbonator. Men's Fitness (June/July) mentions Le Tournment Vert absinthe. In Playboy (June) they tell you how to make a Blue Blazer, recommend some summer brews, and have a story on rum with a few recipes.
