Drambuie as a Base Spirit in a Highball
April 23, 2013
Yep. The Mackinnon is a highball made with 2 ounces of Drambuie, a splash of white rum, lemon, lime, and soda water. Sounds gross right?
It's pretty good, actually. Go get the recipe at FineCooking.com.
The Madelaine is very similar but equal parts white rum and Drambuie; while I have made it without the soda water, I have seen recipes that include it. The Mackinnon that a bartender made for me used Old Monk instead of a white rum which made for a richer drink.
