So Much New Booze: Whiskies, of Course, But Amari and More

In today's edition of New Booze, we find new vermouths, vodka, flavored gin, flavored vodka, flavored rum, a couple of amari, a smokeless mezcal, a bottled Old Fashioned, and a ton of new scotch, rye, and bourbon.
I'm also trying with a shorter format today, as these posts take up a lot of time, and if you want more information, they're probably all on the internet.
Boodles Mulberry Gin
$28.99, 30% ABV
Made with mulberries, a touch of raspberries, Boodles Gin and a blend of natural ingredients, Boodles Mulberry is a liqueur. Boodles Mulberry pays homage to the mulberry tree which has been a familiar sight in the English countryside for centuries. Inspired by the traditional sloe gin liqueur.
Russell’s Reserve 1998
With only 23 barrels of Bourbon bottled – the smallest batch ever under Jimmy and Eddie’s watch, Russell’s Reserve 1998 Only 2,070 bottles will be available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $250.
Cynar 70 Proof
Double the intensity and proof of original Cynar, the bittersweet artichoke liqueur, Cynar 70 Proof.
This new, higher proof spin on the classic artichoke liqueur is higher-proof than the 35 proof original. Like its older sibling, Cynar 70 Proof is crafted from the same secret recipe of 13 infused herbs and plants.
Cynar 70 Proof will be available nationwide at fine spirits purveyors at $34.99 MSRP for a one liter bottle.
Three new single malts from John Dewar & Sons
ROYAL BRACKLA Founded in 1812, in the northern Highlands, it hails from the first distillery bestowed with a royal warrant.Heavily sherried. Royal Brackla will be available 12-year-old, 16-year-old and 21-year-old expressions. ($65, $130, $225)
AULTMORE (Speyside) is a rare malt known locally as “a nip of the Buckie Road.” The distillery’s water filters down through the misty, mysterious area called the Foggie Moss. AULTMORE will be available in 12- year-old and 18-year-old in limited quantities. ($55, $115)
DEVERON (Highlands), a new range of 12 and 18 year-old single malts, is made where the River Deveron meets the open seas. ($45, $110)
Rebellion 8 Year Bourbon
Rebellion Bourbon has expanded its offerings to include a limited edition, 8 year aged Bourbon. Rebellion 8 Year Bourbon rests in new, charred American oak barrels, two years longer than its predecessor. The mash bill of 70% corn, 22% rye, 8% malted barley is distilled and aged in Tennessee using a traditional copper still. Rebellion 8 Year Bourbon leaves the barrel at 122 proof before being cut with spring water to reach 90 proof before being bottled. Rebellion 8 Year Bourbon is available at a national SRP of $50 for a 750 ml bottle. Each batch is limited to approximately 2,500 bottles.
Sobieski Estate Vodka
Created at the Lancut Distillery, the oldest distillery in Poland, Sobieski Estate Single Rye is created from Polish Dankowski rye. Dankowski rye is harvested from Polish fields along with water from the Carpathian Fore. The vodka is then continuously rectified.
Sobieski Estate is $28 for 750mL.
Heaven Hill Brings Back Acclaimed Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon After Three Year Hiatus
Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel to again be offered on a limited national basis at a suggested retail price of $120 for the 750ml bottle. Heaven Hill also announced it is re-releasing a limited number of barrels of Elijah Craig 23-Year-Old Single Barrel, which has been bottled, also in limited quantities, since 2013 and carries a suggested retail price of $199.
Rabble Rouser Rye from Catoctin Creek
Rabble Rouser is the latest rye whisky offering from Catoctin Creek. Distilled from 100% rye, and like the other whisky from Catoctin Creek, Rabble Rouser is a single barrel whisky. The Rabble Rouser differs from its cousin, Roundstone Rye, in that it is distilled at a lower proof. The whisky is aged for four years in Minnesota white oak barrel, twice the legal age requirement for "straight rye whiskey." It is bottled at 100 proof.

Bully Boy Distillers Old Fashioned
With Bully Boy’s smooth American Straight Whiskey used as the base spirit, the Old Fashioned is hand crafted with muddled raw sugar and just enough Angostura bitters to complement the whiskey without overpowering it.
ABV: 35.7% alcohol by volume. 750ml bottle.

Hochstadter’s Vatted Straight Rye Whiskey
The 100-proof spirit is the first rye whiskey to officially designate its blend of straight rye whiskeys as vatted.
Hochstadter’s Vatted Straight Rye Whiskey will begin its rollout in Fall 2015 at a suggested retail price of $34.99 for a 750 ml bottle. The five straight rye whiskeys used in the blend range from 4 to 15 years old and were sourced from distilleries across North America— Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Alberta, Canada.
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection 1838 Style White Corn
The Woodford Reserve Master's Collection 1838 Style White Corn was conceptualized and created by respected industry veteran and Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Chris Morris. Drawing from original production records, Morris was able to develop and bring to life a recipe Pepper and Crow might have used.
The 1838 Style White Corn will be available for purchase in select markets within the United States and in limited international markets beginning in November with a suggested retail price of $99.99 for 750ml.
The Glenlivet Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish
This new expression is matured in casks which have previously held heavily peated Scotch Whisky to bring forth a subtle, aromatic smoky flavor.
The Glenlivet Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish will be available in CA, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MI, NY, TX, WA markets at a suggested retail price of $84.99.
Mezcal Viejo Indecente
Mezcal Viejo Indecente is produced in San Isidro Guishe, within the district of Miahuatlán, Oaxaca, by the Lucas family, who has been producing mezcal for three generations.
Mezcal Viejo Indecente Espadín, the first product to launch stateside, begins with 100% Espadín agave sourced from the Lucas’ farm and harvested after approximately 8 years. The agave is steamed in a clay oven, distilled twice in a pot still at the family distillery. In lieu of the smoky notes imparted from typical wood-fueled pits, Mezcal Viejo Indecente utilizes a steam cooking process – a traditional process commonly seen in Mexico’s northern states.
Mezcal Viejo Indecente Espadín ($59.99 for 750ml) is available in California, Florida and New York.
Main Street Vodka and Barnegat White Whiskey
Business partners John Granata, Susan Lord and Elizabeth MacDonald are pleased to announce the opening of Jersey Spirits Distilling Co. (Jersey Spirits), a craft distillery in Fairfield, New Jersey. Jersey Spirits has developed a custom still system and the entire process of mashing, fermenting and distilling is done in-house. Their first two distilled spirits products launching are Main Street Vodka and Barnegat White Whiskey.
In addition to the Main Street Vodka and Barnegat White Whiskey, they plan to launch several other spirits before end of 2015 including DSP.7 Gin (infused with 13 different botanicals); Jersey Apple Hooch; Jersey Pumpkin Hooch; and Boardwalk White Rum. Limoncello and Orangecello are planned for release in time for this holiday season.

Lo-Fi Aperitifs
Quaker City Mercantile and E. & J. Gallo Launch Portfolio of American-made Aperitifs. Slated to begin with a Sweet Vermouth, Dry Vermouth and Gentian Amaro, Lo-Fi will launch this fall in select San Francisco bars and restaurants.
