The Big Nonalcoholic Cocktail List at Bar Iris

Bar Iris, the Japanese-influenced cocktail bar in Russian Hill, currently lists 7 cocktails on the menu. The drinks, including Okinawa (rum, okinawa yam, calamansi, oat milk, plum) that I wrote about for Eater, are the result of tons of prep work for the ingredients before service.

A lot of the flavor of the drinks comes from the ingredients like apple, yam, peas, and a range of citrus, more than being lead by the liquor as in classic cocktails.

This style of cocktail lends itself well to being replicated in nonalcoholic form.

There are 5 non-alcoholic cocktails currently listed on the menu - not only is that a high number for any cocktail bar, it's probably the highest ratio of nonalcoholic to alcoholic drinks in the city. Bravo.

I haven't tried them yet, but I've had the boozy versions of several of them :)
